Driving Lessons

At KMP Show Horses, our driving lesson packages are designed around a specialized curriculum created by Head Trainer, Kendall Pierce. This structured program offers clear levels of progression, allowing riders to build confidence and skills step by step in a supportive environment. Lessons consist of 30 minutes of Driving, with an additional suggested 15 minutes before and after each session for preparing your horse and putting them away to be able to before and after to properly harness, hitch, and care for your horse—an important part of developing horsemanship. We also offer Youth intro packages for students ages 4-6 which offer 15 minutes of Driving and 10 minutes after each lesson to do what ever instructor finds important. Each level focuses on developing both horsemanship and driving ability, ensuring students gain a well-rounded foundation. Each student works toward individualized SMART goals (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound), ensuring that every lesson is tailored to their personal development. To celebrate progress and encourage growth, we host testing days where drivers can demonstrate their skills and advance to the next level. This approach provides a fun, goal-oriented experience while fostering long-term success in harness.
